My client is a long-established food manufacturing business with several sites across the UK, home to over 1,000 employees who share a passion for great products. This site is the heart of just one of their major brands, where thousands of tonnes of products are created every year.
The Role:
1. Boiler maintenance and function testing.
2. Ensure all legislation is met with strict management of compliance such as PSSR, LOLER and site critical PPMS (legionella).
3. Daily effluent management to ensure emissions are within consent allowances through regular checks, adjustments, and water analysis.
4. Water network compliance and integrity. Legionella control and continuous improvement towards RA closure.
5. Carry out Electrical & Mechanical fault finding and repairs.
6. Provide cover to Engineering Shift Teams as and when required, holidays/sickness/training courses.
7. Development and implement action plans to address root cause of all failures.
8. Support the Engineering Shift Teams in production breakdown repairs to FMCG machinery within the production area as and when instructed.
9. Attend breakdowns promptly and ensuring all action tracker and planned maintenance tasks are completed.
10. Utility meter readings. Weekly chemical stocktakes and re-order completion.
11. Contractor control. PTW issue. Insurance inspection coordination.
12. Managing and completing the sites Electricity, Gas and water usage.
13. Overall responsibility in the Services Department - this is to include Boilers, Compressors, and Effluent plant.
14. Responsibility and management of the Engineering Services team such as planning workload priorities as well as managing the 5S strategy.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and alert in your work, identifying and assisting in developing improvements in reliability and efficiency. You will work with high standards, have an awareness of Health and Safety expectations, be a good communicator, and able to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Relevant Engineering qualification ‘with’ apprenticeship (HNC, C&G, BTEC).
2. Must have or be willing to receive training towards Boiler Fundamentals onto BOAS.
3. HACCP, GMP adherence knowledge.
4. Fault finding and diagnostics experience.
5. Electrical skills/understanding.
6. Basic pipework knowledge and safe isolation RA for pressurised systems.
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
8. Knowledge of 5S responsibilities.
