Job Title: Engineering Manager- Electrical Systems
Salary: up to £62,000 per annum dependent upon experience + 10% bonus

You will be joining the Electrical Power Systems Definition team, working on the UK’s next-generation SSN design that incorporates technology from the UK, Australia and the United States. You will be part of the Electrical Power team who are responsible for leading a team of engineers in defining the system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process, including design documentation, spatial modelling and build outputs.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the UK, including various internal, customer and supplier sites.
Main Responsibilities:
Leading & managing an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
Managing the processes and reviews of technical documentation
Managing associated technical risks, assumptions and dependencies
Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
Taking a leading role by guiding the team through the systems definition process
Providing leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development

About You:
Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering background
Engineering Chartership required (or equivalent experience demonstrated)
Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Team Leadership experience
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
