This role is based 5 days a week from our office, 8 Bishopgate, London, EC2N 4BQ
Position Summary:
Bentley’s software products help build the physical infrastructure world around us. Our customers range from operators within transportation, water, energy, and cities.
The Workplace Services team is a global team, dispersed to regional facilities. The AV Technician will play a pivotal role in our flagship London office, ensuring the overall equipment in our Experience Centre, which features an 8 metre wide screen, enables our enterprise customers to realize the full potential of Bentley’s product offerings through visual and sound capabilities.
This role will also provide IT 3rd line technical support to all Bentley colleagues for any IT incident, service request, or general question but also provides infrastructure support for various offices in the EMEA region.
Key responsibilities:
1. Providing exemplary customer-focused VIP Level Support to our Colleagues and Customers.
2. Troubleshoot & test our Experience Center AV equipment to avoid event interruptions, including daily and weekly preventative maintenance checks.
3. Provide Technical support of Conference rooms and Experience Center hardware, including screen, camera, sound, light, and associated hardware/software.
4. Answer, troubleshoot, research, and resolve incidents and service requests in accordance with Service Level Agreements, departmental goals, and individual performance targets.
5. Gather troubleshooting and problem-resolution information from other teams and document information in the appropriate department knowledgebase.
6. Provide ad-hoc support for newly received local escalations. When required, record the incoming incidents, service requests, and solutions into the ITSM system.
7. Perform technical support, guidance, and best practices during events in our experience center.
8. Recommend upgrades or enhancements to current technology to aid in our “customer experience”.
9. Testing and general maintenance of all AV equipment, including troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance to ensure AV equipment is always in working order.
10. Provide local support for Bentley colleagues such as laptops, monitors, and associated peripherals.
11. Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and backup tasks on server-class hardware and software under direction.
12. Perform general network troubleshooting and assist with localized network tasks under direction.
13. Ensure necessary patching and maintenance is being performed in conjunction with our Client Configuration team.
14. Interface with IT and business staff to enhance the quality and/or efficiency of the provided services.
15. Coordinate with external vendors to ensure feature enhancements and/or SLAs are met.
16. Participate and/or initiate projects designed to improve service to our customers, such as improving site technology related to the London Experience Center.
17. Perform installations, configurations, and upgrade tasks that may require some research and analysis.
18. Assist with communication and documentation associated with changes for technical and non-technical audiences.
19. Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant information technology procedures, systems, and applications; become a subject matter expert in various support areas; maintain knowledge base and incident ticketing system.
What we are looking for:
1. 5+ years of relevant technical support experience, including production A/V equipment (lighting, audio equipment, camera equipment, Dante, NDI, and large format displays) along with 3rd line IT support.
2. Practical experience with Conference room technology such as Logi, Crestron, etc.
3. Knowledge of Teams Meeting room Technology.
4. Knowledge of Windows and MacOS operating systems; advanced knowledge is a huge advantage to the role.
5. Proven communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
6. Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM Principles.
7. Prior experience providing technical support to customer-facing, onsite events.
