The Technical Sales and Service Supervisor possesses a broad knowledge of my clients' products and capabilities. They will be the subject matter contact for both brazing products and brazing machines along with process operations supporting the sales team, distributors, and customers with product and technical information to help grow sales and meet the needs of their customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Services / Customer Support:
1. Stay abreast of industry developments and trends.
2. Answer general technical questions and assist sales/distributors/customers in product selection.
3. Evaluate customer needs and recommend products/applications satisfying customer requirements, which are in alignment with long-term goals, strategy, and objectives.
4. Participate in identifying, qualifying, and engaging with new Distributors and Representatives in markets as required for qualification, new sales prospects as received from various sources.
5. Work with Distributors and Representatives related to the sale of pastes, applicators, and automatic brazing and soldering systems within assigned territories.
6. Consult with Distributors and Representatives to increase sales penetration with appropriate technology.
7. Train and provide ongoing support for Distributors and Representatives to develop product knowledge, promote and generate sales, and ensure effective customer service and relations. Assist with key accounts, contacting key prospects and closing key sales.
8. Recommend and participate in commercial programs and activities to grow business including trade shows, advertising, web site, meetings, projects, and various marketing communications activities.
9. Network and maintain effective market, product, and competitive contacts to anticipate development in products and prices.
10. Evaluate product applications and recommend market and product policies, programs, and strategies.
11. Expedite and troubleshoot problem accounts and unusual customer inquiries.
12. Provide expertise in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and other areas on matters of mutual concern to troubleshoot, correct, and improve internal and external product and process issues.
13. Seek opportunities for continued process improvement as a commitment to Quality.
14. Work with customers, sales, distributors, and others to investigate new applications and products.
15. Work with sales to establish and maintain solid customer relations and contacts with key customers. Schedule periodic visits as necessary to key customers to ensure their product/process needs are being satisfied.
16. Take ownership of customer issues and independently navigate the internal organization in order to create innovative solutions for customers.
17. Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree (preferably engineering or other technical discipline) with demonstrated technical aptitude.
2. 5 years field sales experience in the manufacturing industry with 2-3 years sales management experience.
3. 3-5 years professional experience and a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
4. Technical/Mechanical aptitude.
5. Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with material management systems.
6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
7. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Display willingness and ability to make sound, accurate decisions.
9. Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Work with minimal direction.
11. Able to work as part of a team providing distributors, their associates, and other internal support functions with the information and materials they need to win customer business.
