There is an exciting opportunity to work within the cancer business unitas a ward Sister or Charge nurse.
We have an opportunities available on ward 301 which is an18 bedded Acute Haematology Ward -1 x permanent (37.5 hours)
We are looking for experienced Nurses who have the ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and will thrive in our Acute Inpatient Department. You should also have demonstrable post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
We are in search of a driven, compassionate and forward thinking person to join our team to support, lead and develop our staff and service users. This role would let you develop leadership skills and be involved in the implementation of change on the ward, to improve patient care and support your colleagues.
The role also enables you to work along side the Senior Sister and continue to be a clinical lead in delivering exceptionalcare on the ward. You will be supported in completing staff appraisals, supervision and having regular well-being conversations.
The successful candidate would need to be motivated, engaged and demonstrate ability to proactively problem solve through an insight into leadership. Ideally possess skills such as administration of chemotherapy, triage, venepuncture and cannulation, although not essential as these skills can be worked towards through education and training. They will be expected to escalate concerns accordingly, support the ward and the business unit with safe staffing and co-ordinate the shift accordingly.
You will be required to participate in the rota for holding the bed phone, the rapid response phone and triaging unwell Haematology/Oncology patients out of hours.
