In over 25 years, it's made us a trusted provider to UK organisations across the public and private sector.
This is a dual-role position responsible for both evaluating the effectiveness of the organisation's internal financial controls and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role combines the responsibilities of internal auditing-focused on risk management, compliance, and operational efficiency-with financial planning and analysis (FP&A), which involves budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Day to day you will be responsible for:
* Lead the development of the annual budget, including revenue, expense, and capital expenditure projections.
* Work closely with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic budget submissions.
* Monitor and analyse actual performance against the budget, providing insights into variances.
* Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future business performance under various scenarios.
* Develop and execute audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
* Conduct audits of financial and operational processes to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
* Oversee the preparation and accuracy of the annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, manage the statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors.
* Analyse processes and financial records to identify inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and areas of non-compliance.
* Support risk management activities by identifying potential risks and advising on mitigation strategies.
* Support mergers, acquisitions and other strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and due diligence.
* Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, driving efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
