TheVegetarian Societyis the UK's original and leading voice for the vegetarian and vegan movement, driven by convictions and hunger for change. The Society campaigns for dietary policies in addition to running a leading cookery school, amongst other activities. The Role: Reporting to board level you will lead the marketing function for the charitys commercial and charitable activities, focussing on membership acquisition and retention, whilst also supporting the sales team, lead generation and fundraising.The role manages multi-channel marketing campaigns to enhance the engagement in the Societys thought-leadership, charitable and income generating projects/activities. The Ideal Candidate will be an accomplished Marketing Manager with a strong digital/social emphasis and minimum two years successful experience in a corresponding role. Candidates from a similar ethical or cause-related marketing background would be of particular interest.A candidate who is fully in tune with the Societys ethics and objectives i.e. a vegetarian or vegan - is definitely preferred. You will also most likely be a graduate in marketing, digital media or communications (or perhaps the holder of a CIM Diploma). Experience of working across the marketing mix and developing successful strategies, including growth and lead-generation campaigns, is essential. Prior experience of building group membership or stakeholder engagement communities would be a distinct advantage.Alternatively, a track record or marketing success with a vegetarian/vegan product manufacturer or retailer, or perhaps, promotion of an animal-welfare related charity would also be of relevance. The role can be conducted from home or hybrid, with approx one day per week office attendance (in central Manchester) for meetings etc - although this could ultimately rise, dependent on the future development of the role and the organisation.
