Who are we? At La Fosse Academy, we develop the next generation of tech professionals; our curriculum is constantly updated with the most in-demand skills to prepare our talented cohorts for careers within leading businesses. Tech careers are for everyone, and we want to ensure the course is accessible to people from any background, so our Academy is at no upfront cost for associates. One of the biggest talent challenges within the tech industry is the lack of diversity, and we’re actively tackling that by helping more women, career changers and returners to work enter the tech industry. Our current associates are 45% female, 65% from an ethnic minority background, 85% from lower- or middle-income families, and 45% are career changers. We aim to become the world’s first tech academy to reach 50:50 gender parity in our associates. What is it? The Academy programme lasts 2.5 years and is a kick-start to your tech career. It comprises 9 weeks of expert, live-taught training and a potential 2-year commercial placement. Our curriculum teaches various tech skills, tools, and concepts, giving you a broad knowledge base to start your tech career. This course is designed to equip you with a wide range of technical and business-based skills, ensuring you are fully prepared to seize the myriad of opportunities that a career in technology can offer You could go on to work in various job roles, including Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Project Managers, Software Engineers and Developers with employers such as Money Corp, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kingfisher and Ocado. During your training, you’ll learn the core skills and ways of working across the tech industry and focus on HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, and Python. Why us? Combine this with the interpersonal skills and business knowledge we provide, and you will be at your most employable by the end of the 9 weeks. From day one, you'll be part of the La Fosse community, with access to expert recruitment teams and our huge tech network. Requirements Who are you? You don’t need any specific experience to apply. We take people from all walks of life, degree backgrounds, and school/college leavers over 18. However, we will ask you to do some prep work before teaching begins, and you must pass a technical interview. So, some experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or other programming languages would be beneficial but is by no means necessary. Most importantly, we are looking for someone to demonstrate their passion for starting a career in tech and their capability to pick up tech skills in their own time. Most importantly, be yourself and give it your all What's the promise? You will need to treat the training programme as a full-time job – you will be expected to participate from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, whether in our London Victoria office or virtually. If you successfully gain a placement once the course has finished, this will also be a full-time role. Benefits What's the package?
