Overview of the role
The Senior Technology Engineer will work as part of Research Technology and Innovation Teams to perform technology research and demonstration tasks within the Delka Research Technology & Innovation department.
Our current technology development portfolio has vehicle control systems development, and autonomous and uncrewed systems at its core. The successful candidate will lead the development of our autonomy capability and will be responsible for mission systems aspects of our uncrewed systems.
They will employ sound systems engineering practice and play a role in ensuring technology developments meet safety, environmental, security regulations and best practice. They will assist senior engineers or managers in planning and organising research tasks and in interfacing with suppliers, partners and customers, and will be responsible for delivering against assigned tasks.
We are looking for an engineer with a sound grasp of autonomy and mission systems but welcome applications from candidates who feel they can demonstrate the aptitude to grow into the role.
We are interested in hearing from candidates with skill / knowledge in one or more of: Autonomy, Systems Architecting Modelling, Systems Engineering.
Key responsibilities
* Research and demonstrate technology, as directed to support Delkia research and product development projects.
* Collate, prepare and maintain research documentation, products and services in a configured manner to support company product / service development.
* Support engineering reviews and support assurance activities.
* Assist in the promotion of Research and Technology development activities.
* Participate in regular reporting to line management, Technical Manager and the wider business.
* Offer innovative solutions to technology challenges and commit to a culture of continuous business improvement.
Essential:
* Engineering, Computing, Science or Mathematics qualification with degree, or equivalent experience.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to deliver technology solutions in accordance with requirements / knowledge objectives.
* Resilience to uncertainty
* Interest and evident skills in technology research and or demonstration
Desirable:
* Post Graduate degree
* Chartered Engineer or Member of Professional Association working towards Chartered registration with Engineering Council
* Awareness / appreciation of legal and regulatory requirements within the technology field.
