Smart DCC is actively seeking a Technical Operations Analyst to join our high-performing TOC (Technical Operations Centre) team.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in supporting the UK’s smart energy infrastructure. You’ll monitor the performance and health of the Smart Metering Network, ensuring service levels are met, issues are proactively resolved, and performance insights are delivered to key stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
1. Monitor service dashboards, performance tools, and reports to track operational health and SLAs.
2. Diagnose anomalies and service degradation issues, escalating or resolving as required.
3. Provide expert technical support to Incident, Problem, Change, and Customer Service teams.
4. Support major incident management to restore service quickly and minimize customer impact.
5. Assist with onboarding new customers and initial smart meter installs.
6. Lead data tasks for critical events such as Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR).
7. Deliver simplified reports and escalate complex analysis to our Data Science team.
8. Communicate performance updates to internal and external stakeholders regularly.
What are we looking for?
1. 2+ years' experience in a monitoring environment (NOC, TOC, or high-level Service Centre).
2. Strong understanding of smart meter infrastructure, operational SLAs, and system diagnostics.
3. Confident stakeholder management and clear communication across all business levels.
4. Experience supporting incident and problem management processes.
5. Ability to interpret data into trends and actionable insights.
6. Familiarity with infrastructure components (e.g., databases, firewalls, servers, networks).
7. Working knowledge of ITIL practices.
8. Basic SQL and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.
9. Knowledge of analytics tools like Omniscope.
10. Understanding of Remedy or similar ticketing systems.
11. Ability and willingness to gain Security Clearance.
