Student Progression Advisor Annual Salary: £16 to £20 per hour Location: Northwest London Job Type: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year We are seeking a dedicated Student Progression Advisor to join our team in Northwest London. This role is crucial for supporting the academic success and personal development of our students through one-to-one guidance, target setting, and contributing to their career plans. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in implementing our college's employability agenda and ensuring students are well-prepared for their future careers. Day-to-day of the role: Implement the EPR policy and deliver an EPR curriculum to groups of students, ensuring active involvement and maintaining good punctuality, attendance, and behaviour. Conduct individual one-to-one interviews focusing on target setting for academic success, documenting these in the College’s Individual Learning Plans on ProMonitor. Provide pastoral support for designated groups of students, ensuring cross-college support where necessary. Work closely with target students, their parents/carers, and colleagues to ensure students meet all aspects of their learning programme, including punctuality, attendance, behaviour, and work deadlines. Maintain detailed individual records for each tutee and ensure students undergo appropriate assessments and receive necessary support. Assist in the personal and social development of students, providing guidance on time management and study organisation. Contribute to the UCAS process and other careers education work as required. Support the Head of School in collecting and recording statistical data and other impact evidence for the work of Student Progression Advisors (SPAs). Participate in various college activities such as parents’ evenings, open days, and enrolment duties as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting. Strong understanding of academic guidance and support mechanisms. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with students, parents, and staff. Proficient in using educational technology and systems, such as ProMonitor.
