LOCATION(S): Leeds or Manchester
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our locations noted above.

We're looking for Infrastructure Specialists to join our Private Cloud Platform. You’ll have a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious team with the purpose of driving our tech modernisation agenda and enable us to become the biggest Fintech in the UK.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in infrastructure engineering and a passion for technology. Commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions is a must. You will have worked hands-on and broadly with VMware technologies and bring your expertise to one of our specialist teams; Networking, Storage, Databases (Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB), and other infrastructure technologies.
Day to day, you'll:
1. Understand the business area to facilitate the best solution design with team members and product owners.
2. Be environment aware, identify technical impediments / bottlenecks and work directly to resolve.
3. Be technology agnostic and willing to adapt approach in pursuit of the best solution.
4. Be anchored to core engineering area and carry the ability to test, learn and mentor others.
5. Understand Systems Thinking and Service Design to mitigate reactive solutions that leads to further technical debt.
6. Understand the benefits of measuring change and work with teams to provide reassurance and mitigate behavioural change.
7. Understand agile and the relationship between agile definitions and automated delivery.
8. Be passionate about automating everything.
9. Be industry aware and understand the importance of new technical approaches to evolve solutions and the experience of the team.

What you’ll need
Expertise in a hybrid cloud environment specialising in one or more of the following technologies:
1. VMware (including NSX and VMware ARIA suite)
2. Storage & Backup (SAN, NAS, vSAN)
3. Networking (DHCP / WINS / DNS)
4. Middleware (MQ, WAS)
5. Automation Tooling (Chef / Terraform)
You will be able to demonstrate expertise of:
1. Supporting & managing enterprise infrastructure systems.
2. Agile ways of working.
3. Cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud.
4. Designing or contributing to solutions for a Hybrid Cloud Environment.
5. Backup / Restore and Disaster recovery processes.
6. Performance Optimisation.
7. Technical fault-finding Level 3 & 4.
8. Security best practises and compliance standards.
9. Mentoring Colleagues and supporting technical development of others.
10. Service design and associated methodologies.
11. Problem solving and communication skills.
