With this goal in mind, we have made a significant investment to the Special Educational Needs (SEND) service in Sefton. In support of our growth, we are recruiting to a number of positions within our Educational Psychology Service, including the appointment of a Principal Educational Psychologist. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking leader where, together with our dedicated team of Educational Psychologists and Assistant Educational Psychologists, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and delivering high-quality psychological services across the council.

Sefton Educational Psychology Service is a highly regarded and supportive team of Educational Psychologists and Assistant Educational Psychologists. We benefit from close links with training courses and value the contribution Trainee Educational Psychologists bring to the service.
All of our Educational Psychologists have a balance of traded and statutory work, working collaboratively with parents and carers, educational setting staff and other professional partners, to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. The service also leads and contributes to wider SEND initiatives, such as training in ELSA, EBSA, and NVR.
About the role…..
As Principal Educational Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic, operational leadership and management support to Sefton’s Educational Psychology Service to deliver a range of psychological services for children, young people, their families, and schools.
This position demands a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of educational psychology, a commitment to inclusive education, and a passion for improving the lives of children and young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives, driving innovation in service delivery, and fostering collaborative relationships with schools, families, and professional partners.
