About the Role: As a primary teacher in this SEN school in Watford, you will: ✅ Lead a small KS1 or KS2 class of pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), supported by experienced teaching assistants. ✅ Deliver engaging, sensory-based lessons tailored to pupils working at EYFS to KS1 levels. ✅ Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and visual aids to support learners. ✅ Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and structured learning environment. ✅ Work closely with therapists and SEN specialists to support the holistic development of pupils. ✅ Plan, assess, and differentiate lessons to ensure all pupils make progress. Requirements (Essential): ✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). ✔️ Experience as a primary teacher in an SEN setting. ✔️ Strong understanding of SLD, ASD, and sensory-based teaching approaches. ✔️ Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and proactively.
