We’re now recruiting an experienced HSE Advisor at Drax Power Station, near Selby. This is a 12-month fixed term contract role.
About the role
If you like to lead from the front and provide leadership then you’ll certainly have the opportunity for that in this role. Your primary responsibility will be to undertake the role of HSE Advisor, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environment standards and responsibilities are understood by all involved within Drax Power Station.
Drawing upon your experience, you’ll be implementing and maintaining Drax health & safety policies to ensure best practice codes are adhered to according to local standards and legislation.
With your experience and knowledge of managing HSE projects, you’ll also be involved in major projects, such as outage shutdowns, ensuring required safety and operational standards are met.
You’ll be the person who provides advice and guidance on HSE matters to colleagues and contractor partners.
Strong communication is important to this role therefore you’ll be confident in engaging with colleagues, external stakeholders, the senior leadership team and contractor partners. Using your expertise and knowledge, this role will provide you with the scope to introduce new innovative approaches to our HSE management system and processes.
This role is predominantly health and safety focused but supporting the wider HSE & G teams.
Who we’re looking for
To hit the ground running in this role, you’ll be an experienced HSE Advisor with a background working within power generation, high hazard, engineering, construction or manufacturing industries.
Additionally, you’ll need a Level 6 safety qualification i.e. NEBOSH Diploma. If you’re a trained auditor that would be highly beneficial, if not then this is certainly something we can support your development with.
You’ll also need a strong understanding of Health & Safety management systems, such as ISO45001.
