Job Specification: Deputy Manager (Children's Residential Home)
Location: Castleford
Salary: Starting at £36,270.00 per annum, with an increase upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period
Hours: 46.5 hours per week, including office hours, 24-hour shifts, and on-call duties
Tudor Employment Agency are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team at a new children's residential home in Castleford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children's residential care and experience managing teams in a similar setting. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the team to deliver high-quality care for children and young people
* Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
* Act as a role model and mentor for staff, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies
* Manage and participate in the emergency on-call rota (1 week per month)
* Drive children and young people to appointments, education, social events, and contact sessions
* Take part in staff supervision, appraisals, and training programs
* Support young people in achieving their individual goals and development plans
Qualifications and Experience:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience managing a team in a children's residential setting
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare/Children's Workforce or Level 4 Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner (Residential) qualification (or currently working towards one)
* A full UK driving licence (essential).
Working Hours:
46.5 hours per week, including:
Three office days (09:00–17:00)
One 24-hour shift (08:00–23:00, followed by a sleep-in and a half-hour handover the following day)
Hours equate to 201.5 hours per month
