The Department of Psychology at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a part time (0.5FTE) Project Coordinator, to work on the Protecting Ordinary People from Deepfakes Project. We are seeking to appoint someone who will support the activities of an interdisciplinary research team. You will work closely with the research team and project partners and report to Dr Sophie Nightingale (Principal Investigator). The Project is funded by the UKRI ESRC as part of Dr Nightingale's Future Leaders Fellowship. You will be part of a new research team working on mapping and mitigating the threats to ordinary people from deepfake technology and will support the activities of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the activities of the interdisciplinary research team.
* Work closely with project partners.
* Handle confidential and sensitive information.
* Assist in outreach and publicity efforts.
* Organize events and workshops.
Minimum Requirements:
* A highly motivated person with an undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience.
* Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
* Experience with outreach and publicity.
* Experience with event organisation.
* Prior experience of working with vulnerable populations and/or dealing with confidential sensitive material, including data management.
* Demonstrable ability to learn rapidly and complete tasks accurately with attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexibly and travel within the UK to project partner sites to support events and workshops; overseas travel is desirable.

The Psychology Department is a busy teaching and research active Department, home to a friendly group of around 40 Academic staff, with teams of Research and Professional Services and Technical staff. The Department supports a large cohort of Undergraduate students, a thriving group of Masters and Postgraduate research students, and a wide range of research projects including several cross-institution grants.
