PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Role of an Associate Product Manager
1. Assist the Product Manager in the development and execution of product strategies throughout the product life cycle.
2. Support product development by ensuring new products deliver the features and performance our customers want.
3. Assist the marketing department by defining the key messaging and USPs for our customers.
4. Provide support for product launches and updates including developing price lists, part codes, user guides, and supporting the marketing team with messaging.
5. Provide marketing research to shape our Product Management strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Draft Product Requirement documents to prioritize product features and capabilities including key differentiators and USPs that align with our overall strategy.
2. Help create product positioning, value propositions, and sales arguments for target markets.
3. Continually enhance product features and performance based on customer feedback.
4. Market the product by creating the correct message for new product launches.
5. Work with the marketing team to create the correct positioning in the marketplace.
6. Support the sales team with training, education, and expert advice on our products.
7. Provide product documentation for new and updated products including pricing, part codes, comparison documents, and key USPs and messaging.
8. Assist in the rollout of new products internally to the sales and marketing teams.
9. Provide market research to understand market trends, dynamics, and opportunities for product improvement and differentiation.
10. Provide competitive analysis to shape our product development strategy, pricing, inform our sales and marketing teams, and provide valuable insights.
11. Attend sales and marketing exhibitions as well as customer visits alongside the management team to gather market intelligence.
Minimum Requirements
1. A degree (or equivalent) in marketing.
2. A good understanding of marketing software.
3. Ability to understand technical products quickly with good analytical skills.
4. Strong communication skills to portray product information to colleagues or customers.
5. Marketing creativity and the ability to discuss ideas with management and colleagues.
6. Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
7. Highly organized and methodical.
8. A commitment to self-development and professional development.
9. Full driving license.
10. Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally when required.
Reporting to
This role is reporting to the Product Manager.
Working Hours
This is a Full-Time position working 08.30 - 17:00 Monday-Thursday, 8.30-2.30 Friday as standard.
Location
This is a HYBRID role offering the opportunity to work Monday - Wednesday from our office in Ashington and Thursday - Friday remotely.
