Vacancy | Norwich City FC Further Education Programme Lead and Football Co-ordinator(Hertfordshire)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate individual to join our Regional Development Programme (RDP) as the Football Development Coordinator for Hertfordshire. This role is unique, blending football development with a primary focus on leading a Further Education Programme at a school in Stratton. Key Responsibilities:
Further Education Programme Leadership :
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of the Further Education Programme at Stratton School, ensuring the programme meets both the educational and developmental needs of students.
* Collaborate with school staff and RDP management to develop and deliver a curriculum that integrates football coaching with academic learning, offering students pathways into further education, coaching roles, or professional football opportunities.
* Act as a mentor and role model for students, encouraging both their academic achievements and sporting development.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with the school, students, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the programme.
* Ensure all programme activities align with the strategic goals of Norwich City Football Club and the Regional Development Programme.
* Provide regular feedback and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and athletic goals.
Football Development Coordination :
* Oversee various football development projects across Hertfordshire, including primary and secondary school programmes, Player Development Centres (PDCs), and holiday camps.
* Organize and deliver football coaching sessions, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by the RDP.
* Provide leadership and guidance to coaching staff, ensuring all sessions are delivered effectively and in line with RDP policies.
* Work to expand football participation and development opportunities for young male and female players across the region.
* Maintain open communication with RDP management, parents, players, and coaches, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of programme developments.
* Develop relationships with local partners, schools, and community organisations to support the growth of football opportunities in Hertfordshire.
* Ensure all coaching staff are fully briefed on session details and that administrative tasks, such as registers and reporting, are completed accurately and on time.
Coaching & Session Delivery :
* Deliver high-quality football coaching sessions for various age groups across RDP’s projects, focusing on player development, enjoyment, and progression.
* Assist with planning and executing training programmes that support the development of young players in the region.
* Ensure that all coaching sessions are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the RDP’s values and objectives.
Administration & Reporting :
* Manage and maintain coaching equipment, ensuring it is used correctly and is well cared for.
* Complete all necessary administrative tasks, such as registers, reporting, and feedback documentation, accurately and in a timely manner.
* Adhere to all RDP policies and protocols when delivering sessions and representing the programme.
* Provide regular feedback to players and parents, ensuring a high standard of customer service is maintained.
Professional Development :
* Engage in ongoing professional development by attending RDP CPD events, training sessions, and other opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
* Stay informed on current coaching techniques, educational practices, and industry standards to continuously improve the quality of the programmes.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
* FA Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent.
* Experience working with staff and students in a school setting.
* Proven track record in sports development or football coaching roles.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across various stakeholders.
Desirable:
* NGB Coaching qualifications.
* Teaching and/or business qualifications.
* Experience in an educational environment, particularly in Further Education.
* AFPE / PESS Level 3 qualification.
* Experience in programme management or leadership roles.
Employment Details:
* Location : Primarily based in Hertfordshire, with regular travel to Stratton School and other venues across the RDP regions. Occasional travel to the AvantTraining Centre, Carrow Road, and other Norwich City Football Club or Community Sports Foundation sites may be required.
* Role Type : Full-time or part-time positions available (hours to be agreed).
