We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Contracts Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the development and delivery of a comprehensive procurement strategy, ensuring best practices, tools, and guidance are in place. Responsibilities: Provide specialist advice and expertise on supply chain matters, including procurement agreements, strategic sourcing, supplier development, and performance monitoring. Develop a groupwide procurement policy that reflects the organization's risk appetite and contracting approach. Define standard contracts for procurement activities, including engineering, goods & services, consulting, and recruitment. Analyse and evaluate supplier proposed contractual Terms & Conditions. Collaborate with the legal team to flow down key terms from customer-facing contracts. Offer advice and support on procurement matters to various companies and project teams, liaising with external advisors as necessary. Work with Compliance colleagues to develop the Supplier Code of Conduct, focusing on Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions & Export Controls, and other critical topics. Provide recommendations and contract amendments to purchasing staff and management, liaising directly with suppliers to achieve satisfactory agreements. Contribute to the development of commercial acumen and risk management within the organization through regular updates and training. Liaise with external contacts, such as insurance specialists and lawyers, to clarify issues and obtain necessary advice. Maintain contractual records and documentation for all non-standard supplier contracts. Operate within the company's policies, procedures, and practices for procurement and contract management. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Experience: Demonstrable experience in a Procurement/Contracts Manager role with up-to-date knowledge of commercial Contract Law. Experience in sourcing and tendering goods and services. Awareness of Quality, HSE, IP, ESG, Audit, and Data Protection considerations. Awareness of Defence-related procurement requirements. Ability to undertake detailed financial analysis and due diligence checks. Proven experience in contract evaluation and negotiation within a commercial environment. Experience with international contracts involving cross-border transactions. Proficiency in contractual drafting. Proven ability to understand procurement risks and technicalities. Membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or working towards MCIPS qualification. Experience in developing risk mitigation strategies and creative solutions to legal and commercial issues. Ability to work independently with detailed information, delivering accurate results within tight timescales. Experience advising and influencing contractual negotiations with commercial staff, project management, and senior management. Direct supplier liaison experience.
