The Haematology/Oncology department is looking for an experienced medical secretary / PPC to join the team. The candidate will be expected to provide a high standard of work, a strong team working mentality and be able to adapt quickly to changes. Proven experience of audio typing and hospital systems is essential. Experience of using and a good understanding of E-referral and cyberlab is desirable. Full training will be provided along with support from the team and line management. We are a busy, friendly, supportive and approachable work group with a vibrant, forward-thinking and passionate clinical team. We are open to suggestions and ideas from everyone for service improvements.
Main duties of the job
The Medical secretary / Patient Pathway Co-ordinator (PPC) will work within dedicated specialty Divisions to facilitate the smooth running of the patient's journey by ensuring that there are co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes that revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent experience
* NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care equivalent
Skills/ Abilities
* Experience dealing with customer complaints and customer care.
* Knowledge of patient referral to treatment times; experience of monitoring patient pathways
Experience/ Knowledge
* Proven experience of Audio typing.
* Experience working in a similar role in a hospital/health care setting.
* Understanding of medical terminology

Salary: £31,081 to £33,665 a year inclusive.
