Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) Who You Are We are seeking social workers with at least 3 years of experience in fostering services, particularly in completing Coram Baaf Form F assessments. Candidates must be registered with the Care Council for Wales and live within a 40-mile radius of Cardiff. Prior fostering experience, including completion of Form F's, is essential. What the Job Involves The Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) is responsible for conducting initial assessment visits, completing full BAAF Form F assessments on prospective foster carers, and preparing reports for presentation to the Cardiff Children’s Services Panel. The role involves conducting multiple home visits, evaluating applicants' parenting capabilities, and ensuring all documentation is thorough and accurate. You will promote best practices in fostering, support applicants through the assessment process, and provide critical evaluations and recommendations. Attendance at panel meetings is required to present your findings. Skills Qualified social worker (CQSW, DipSW, or BA in Social Work) Registered with Care Council for Wales / GSCC Experience with Looked After Children or within a fostering service Strong communication and administrative skills Knowledge of child care legislation and National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services Enhanced CRB check, driving license, and insurance required
