We are searching for a Quantity Surveyor for an industry leading company in the Drylining and Ceilings sector to carry out surveying duties on a range of projects, largely in the commercial, residential, hotel & leisure, educational and retail sectors within the London region on a permanent basis. The Quantity Surveyor will be working on projects primarily in London & South East regions within the commercial sector. Projects range from £100k to £2Mill +. The client is looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who will be involved and invested in the project and its progress.
The role will include developing close inter-relations with the Client and Sub-contractors and maintain profitable projects. Candidate will also be responsible for the supervision and management of site and trainee surveyors on own various projects. It is a key appointment for the business and underpins the continued growth aspirations of the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Attending tender handover meetings on secured projects and take responsibility for all relevant cost information.
Form contract budgets from tender information calculating total profit/loss forecasts.
Carry out monthly budget monitoring.
Providing interim cost and value reconciliation, monitoring cashflows for projects on Oracle.
Preparation and agreement of interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts, all aspects of measurement.
Procurement of subcontractors
Preparation and compilation of subcontract documentation with appropriate orders.
Implement subcontract payment controls, variations, materials, contra charges and claims.
Record keeping of site progress, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Liaise and co-ordinate with all business unit departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop the companies’ objectives.Experience and Qualifications:
Quantity surveyor experience with a track record in the drylining and internal finishings market
Good sound contract knowledge and experience in various subcontract types
Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and policies.
Strong technical knowledge to align with key accountabilities.
Knowledge of commercial sectors using differing construction systems.
Motivational individual – good leadership qualities.
Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities
