Role
Purpose of the Post
* To provide an age-appropriate, high-quality service to children and young people aged 13-22 who have experienced domestic abuse, with a particular focus on those aged 16 and above.
* To address the growing need for support among young individuals experiencing domestic abuse in their own relationships, including crisis intervention, advocacy, and life skills development.
* To meet legal requirements, Dundee Women’s Aid (DWA) standards, and policies while promoting DWA’s work in the local and wider community.
* To collaborate with young people, families, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive, person-centred approach to addressing domestic abuse.
* To support the Senior Children’s Services Domestic Abuse Practitioner, CEO, Depute CEO, and colleagues in achieving DWA objectives and identifying areas for improvement.

Job Purpose: Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA) is looking for a Community Refuges Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide safe and secure refuge accommodation for women and children who are at risk of domestic abuse.
EWA will fund access to an SVQ Social Services and Healthcare qualification at SCQF level 6.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our feminist governance team supporting and overseeing the development of the organisation to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality, responsive services to vulnerable women, children, and young people in our area. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic and/or sexual abuse, but you will need to prove that you are interested in our work, be reliable, action-focused, and committed to our principles and values.
We are keen to hear from women, and in particular those who may have experience or skills in the areas of Fundraising, HR, IT, legal, women services, or care and charity governance.
