We are currently seeking a Senior HV Plant Engineer in our Energy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients across the country. These projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes, etc.
The role is to work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects. You will be working closely with our other disciplines and supporting/leading FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects. Ideally, you will have experience in working with key T&D clients in the UK.
You will be joining a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans, and as a result, there are lots of great development opportunities within our teams. This is an opportunity to play an important part in the U.K. energy transition.
About You
You will ideally have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience as an HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer. Overall experience of design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and associated power system components is required. Understanding of P&C aspects is preferable.
You will be a proactive individual with knowledge and understanding of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You will have the capability to coach and work within the wider energy team. You will be engaged in the engineering community and understand how we can drive success for our clients, including understanding innovative solutions and industry best practices. You will make an effective and collaborative contribution to the team through sharing knowledge, promoting ideas, and valuing the contribution of all team members.
With an expanding and rapidly growing energy sector, we are also looking for individuals from various technical backgrounds who may not meet the above criteria or may come from other industries. Stantec will develop, provide support, and training to the right people. You will need to be proactive with a willingness to learn and have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
