The role
As a Lead Lecturer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be leading the Common Engineering Applications training team in the delivery of the Electromechanical Training Contract whilst utilising the Babcock principles.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for the line management of the Common Engineering Application team who deliver training of the Electro Mechanical Training Contract (EMTC). You will also be responsible for the production and delivery of a cross training plan for the team to ensure the long term availability of trainers to deliver the training, examinations, invigilation, course marking and manning levels.
1. Lead and manage training operational outcomes for the Common Engineering Applications team to ensure they successfully meet its key objectives & financial targets, while managing risk
2. Work in close collaboration with the Trainer Training & Development (T2D) department to foster a positive training environment that promotes Trainer excellence and skills development with regards to effective and innovative teaching and learning techniques and technologies
3. Ensure appropriate training assurance activities and actions are undertaken with regards to Internal/External Validation, Quality Improvement Plans, End of Course/Module Debriefs and Observation Feedback, ensuring team members are continuously improving the standard of training delivery
4. Work in close collaboration with the Training Planning Manager to ensure that Trainer utilisation within the Common Engineering Applications team is as efficient as possible, identifying pinch points and opportunities for cross training
5. Responsible for ensuring Common Engineering Applications Trainers work in close collaboration with Course Design stakeholders to design, develop and improve courses to meet the needs of the Authority and learners
This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at Lyneham.

6. Leadership & Management experience
7. Sound knowledge of HSE and Quality procedures
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with tact and diplomacy
9. IT literate (MS Office)
10. Excellent personnel management/coaching skills
Qualifications for the Lead Lecturer
11. Engineering Background C&G level 3 or above
12. IOSH Managing Safely
13. Teaching Skills Level 4 Cert Ed
14. Management & Leadership qualification
