Job Description
The Manufacturing, Testing and Qualification function within the Asset Management Business of Altrad Babcock, provide consultancy services to the Oil and Gas, Process, Nuclear and Renewables sectors. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Senior Test and Equipment Qualification Project Engineer to join us in Renfrew.
Our successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of the team providing a wide range of expertise across the division, as well as undertaking work across the wider Asset Management business.
You will have the ability to project manage and lead large scale Equipment Qualification (EQ) test programmes including financial and technical governance, while analysing the data generated from EQ tests. You will be comfortable writing reports and technical documents, along with providing specification of instrumentation and data acquisition test set-up to meet client test programme requirements. In addition to this, you will be responsible for all aspects of pre-contract negotiations, including client liaison, interpretation of client requirements, and preparation of winning tenders to meet our clients’ needs.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for initial concept design and calculations of bespoke test rigs required to carry out department contracts, and lead on all internal stakeholder engagement required to successfully complete our contracts including the setting to work of technical project teams. Ideally you will also have experience in the specification of instrumentation and data acquisition test set-ups.
Our new Senior Test and Equipment Qualification Project Engineer will hold a relevant Engineering degree and considerable transferrable experience, ideally in structural qualification of components within a relevant sector, instrumentation and data acquisition experience, and thorough understanding of the mechanical engineering principals and their application within a component test environment.
