Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Referral and Assessment)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality social work services, ensuring that clients receive the support they need to navigate their challenges. You will be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and effective service delivery. Duties
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs, strengths, and challenges.
2. Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with clients and other professionals.
3. Provide direct support and counselling to clients, addressing emotional, social, and practical issues.
4. Supervise and mentor junior social workers, offering guidance and support in case management.
5. Facilitate group sessions and workshops to promote community engagement and skill development.
6. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and progress notes in compliance with organisational policies.
7. Collaborate with external agencies, community resources, and stakeholders to ensure holistic support for clients.
8. Stay informed about relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
Skills
1. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
3. Proven experience in supervising and mentoring staff within a social work setting.
4. Ability to analyse complex situations and develop effective solutions tailored to individual client needs.
5. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining client records and documentation.
6. Empathy and compassion towards clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
7. Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting social work practice.
