Governance Specialist
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.
Location: Flexible, but you will need to travel into Swindon once per week.

Ensuring that all teams within Zurich Corporate Risk adhere to the governance frameworks and remain compliant is critical to what we do and plays a major part in the success of our business. Do you share the same passion as us? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for someone to provide ongoing support and oversight across ZCR. You will need to develop strong business relationships and be able to manage stakeholder expectations.
Zurich embraces flexible working so you will be able to work from home but we would ideally like you to spend some of your week in our Swindon office so you can work closely with others in the team and the wider business.
What will you be doing?
Becoming a key member of the Governance Team in ZCR Operations, the key focus for this role is delivery against our governance framework and ensuring we remain compliant at all times.
You will work with the ZCR team, supporting and coaching Team Leaders and their Teams, improving their knowledge of the frameworks in place and their responsibilities. The role will include the following activities:
* Completion of the monthly ZCR Governance Scorecard sharing the position of the various frameworks in place across the business.
* Resilience & Continuity Lead for ZCR, including attending the UK Business Resilience Forum, supporting annual Scenario Tests, Impact Tolerance Reviews, Critical App Reviews, the business Exit Strategies and annual MVOE Review.
* Supporting ZCR’s FCA Consumer Duty framework, including compiling monthly performance against CD metrics, creating the monthly ZCR Customer Committee Pack, completing the Committee Meeting minutes and Action Plans.
* Responsibility for Risk & Controls updates on RACE, including ZCR’s Risk & Controls Self Assessment (RCSA).
* Co-ordination of all Audit and Assurance Review information, liaising with both Group Internal Audit and Compliance.
* Information Custodian for ZCR, attending monthly custodian meetings, deputising at the quarterly UK Information Governance Forum (IGF), supporting data incidences & sharing monthly communications to the business.
* Vulnerable Customer Lead and customer wellbeing reporting.
* Completing ZCR’s annual Financial Crime Assessment.
* Completing ZCR’s monthly Quality report, chairing quality meeting & ensuring Quality Approach Summary (QAS) updates are completed every six months.
* Oversight of the UK Key Risk Takers (KRT) Report and Action Plans.
* Creating Breach & Operational Events annual training for the business.
* Completing Complaints Quality Sampling & creating annual Complaints training.
* Co-ordination of new agency referrals to the ZCR Exec Team for agreement.
* Co-ordinate information requests from the FCA.
* Oversight of ZCR’s Signing Authorities and Zurich Risk Profile (ZRP) Life Receivables process.
* Being a point of escalation for governance queries from across the business.
* Identifying areas for simplifying processes to improve customer outcomes, whilst keeping ZCR safe.
What are we looking for?
It is essential that you have outstanding relationship management skills as well as a knowledge of Zurich’s governance frameworks. You will need to manage conflicting priorities and cope with a fast moving environment with varying workloads and pressures; strong planning and organisational skills are a must.
You should be able to problem solve, as well as manage and influence external and internal stakeholders. An understanding of the group risk market in the UK including GR1 qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.
You have to be passionate about customers and driving through Continuous Improvement.
