About Us
Our mission is to create remarkable schools where no child is left behind. Established in 2013, we are a well-respected local school trust, completely committed to our inclusive and ambitious mission.
We are different from many trusts in that we are diverse in composition; 10 schools: primary, secondary, and special, which gives us a unique feel as we learn so much from one another.
We want our students to love learning and be well placed to do something great with their lives. Our values of enjoy, learn, succeed reflect this.
We are ambitious for all our children, and we are determined that all can succeed. We value our teams and are committed to the professional development of all.
We are proud of the clarity that we have as expressed in our principles of alignment and the value that we place on individual and school diversity.
This Trust is determined that everyone has the power to lead and that we serve our local community in action as well as words.
All our leaders are committed to being supported and challenged to be better tomorrow than they are today and are genuinely excited about the next phase in our journey to remarkable.
We are Team Beckfoot Trust and Team School.
Please see the candidate pack for more details about our Trust.
Why Choose Beckfoot School
We are a thriving 11-18 local secondary school with a great reputation (one of the most over-subscribed schools in the country). Our school is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow.
We are committed to our students' academic growth and, just as importantly, their personal development. You can feel our values of enjoy, learn, and succeed in every space, and the ‘Beckfoot Buzz’ is something that every visitor comments on.
Our staff CPD programme (including coaching) is exceptional. Our nationally benchmarked Edurio survey (and our own voice) indicates that this is a place where teachers can teach, and students can learn.
Staff turnover is low, and we are all proud to belong to Team Beckfoot School and Team Beckfoot Trust. Our school catchphrase is simple and sums up what we believe in: ‘Limitless Possibilities for All’.
Beckfoot Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants as part of our overall vetting checks.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Job Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of RE. The right candidate will be a highly valued member of our Humanities Team at Beckfoot School. We would urge you to take the opportunity to visit us or speak to us to find out more.
This is a full-time permanent role with a start date in September 2025.
We understand that choosing an employer and changing roles is a big decision. We will always invest time in talking to anyone who is seeking more details about any role.
We are small enough to feel very connected, yet large enough for all to feel the benefit of scale. As a minimum, we meet national pay and conditions.
We have a great reputation as a local employer and we work positively with unions, with an emphasis on fairness and equity. We find ways to reduce unnecessary workload and are positive about flexible working requests.
We consult on any big changes to policy and listen carefully to our employees through an annual nationally benchmarked survey and many opportunities to hear the voice of the individual.
We are compassionate when colleagues face difficulties and seek to remove barriers to enhance employee engagement. We have a free Employee Assistance Programme that provides confidential counselling and advice for employees and their family.
We dedicate time to teamwork and authentically value staff through specific praise, recognising what they do to make a difference to the lives of young people daily.
We understand the need for psychological safety, and we work hard to remove the barriers to true inclusion for all. Our people matter; being a People First Organisation is a key strategic aim and our People Charter frames our commitment.
We value clarity of communication so that all can belong. Our leaders are highly visible and committed to providing calm, purposeful, and motivational environments where teachers can teach and learners can learn.
