Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a passion for rail infrastructure projects? Our client, a leading rail contractor with an annual turnover of £100m, is seeking a highly skilled professional to join their dynamic team on a freelance basis. This exciting opportunity involves delivering three brand-new railway stations, including platform extensions and associated civil works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting Out: Accurately setting out for platforms, foundations, drainage, and other associated infrastructure works.
* Project Coordination: Working closely with the project management team to ensure the smooth delivery of all site activities.
* Quality Control: Monitoring work progress, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
* Relevant Paperwork: Maintaining accurate records, including daily site reports, quality assurance documentation, and health and safety records.
* Problem Solving: Resolving site issues promptly to avoid project delays and maintain high standards of workmanship.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in rail infrastructure projects, ideally with a focus on station builds or platform extensions.
* Proficient in setting out using modern equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS).
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the rail industry.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills.
* Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent).
* PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification is essential .
