To ensure the efficient and effective repair, servicing and maintenance of the fleet vehicles/plant and equipment, capable of responding to all service and management requirements, whilst ensuring operational compliance.
To assist the department on covering breakdowns and repairs anywhere within the Conwy County boundaries. Shifts 7-15.00 and 11.00 – 19.00 alternating weeks
Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific
1. To maintain service and repair the fleet vehicles/plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, Health and Safety requirements and Ministry of Transport Regulations.
2. Maintain all documentation requirements and electronic systems.
3. Ensure that the Workshops, surrounding areas and all its facilities are maintained in a clean safe condition, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, best practice standards and Industry Regulations.
4. Ensure that all vehicles, plant and operational equipment are maintained in a timely manner to ensure operational demands are met by all departments in CCBC.
5. Liaise with other departments to ensure the maximisation of service delivery and meet all deadlines.
6. The ability to work both as part of a team and under own initiative.
7. Carry out periodic maintenance and assess any accident damage to vehicles/plant/equipment, advising on method of repair where appropriate.
8. Undertake parts ordering, fitting and testing to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
9. Assess vehicles as a pre-MOT
10. Test, assess and repair Electrical Vehicles safely within industry standards or working towards.
11. Support roadside recovery of vehicles
12. Work with other staff and fleet management to ensure repairs are cost effective
13. Provide technical information, undertake diagnostic investigation and provide in-house management with recommendations
14. Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be requested
