Multi Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship (MRO)
Salary: £18,179
Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems and is at the forefront of contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations.
We are looking for 6 multi skilled engineering apprentices to join our team.
Responsibilities:
1. Working to aerospace specifications and internal processes, your main responsibilities will range from the Disassembly, Inspection, Machining, Assembly of landing gear and special plating processes.
2. Complete a structured Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Manufacturing.
3. Demonstrate both engineering skills and knowledge, with the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems.
4. Assist our continuous improvement programme.
5. Spend the first year at a private local engineering training provider for qualification delivery and assessment.
6. Achieve a Level 3 NVQ in a specialist subject (Advanced Machinist or Assembly Fitter of Mechanical Assemblies).
7. Participate in placement rotations to support individual training needs according to your Development Plan.
8. Develop practical skills in Fitting, Boring, Turning, Assembly and Inspection.
9. Complete an NVQ in a specialist subject (Machinist or Assembly Fitter) with the option for additional qualifications.
Travel specificity
This role will be time shared between the Safran Landing Systems Services site and the Training Providers site, both located in Gloucester.
Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 GCSE's, or equivalent, at level 9 - 4, including English, Maths and a science related subject.
Experience:
• No prerequisite experience required but a demonstrable interest in engineering through school or hobby interests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrable interest in an engineering discipline.
• To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft "Word", "Excel" or equivalent software.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
• Highly motivated.
• Aptitude for practical engineering skills.
• Ability to solve problems.
Behaviours and Characteristics:
• Ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.
• To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.
• To be able to prioritise workload and work under own initiative.
• High level of flexibility and dependability.

Note: During your apprenticeship, you will be working a combination of days and late shifts. Post apprenticeship you may be required to work shift rotations comprising days, lates, nights, and weekends when required.
