The EMEA HR Compliance and Employee Relations Advisor plays a crucial role in upholding our organization's high standards of compliance and fostering positive employee relations. This role is responsible for overseeing Regional Compliance and Employee Relations (ER) in collaboration with Legal, People partners, Talent Acquisition, key business leaders, and other HR colleagues. The Advisor will support the development and implementation of proactive strategies, training, communication, capability building, and awareness of HR Compliance and ER best practices.
Responsibilities:
* HR Compliance Leadership: Act as the EMEA subject matter expert, driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of Zebra’s HR compliance programs, policies, procedures, internal audits, investigations, immigration processes, gender reports, and reporting to ensure adherence to employment regulations, labor laws, and other applicable workforce compliance matters.
* Employee Relations Management: Independently manage complex ER matters, conduct workplace investigations, resolve employee grievances, and support the resolution of issues across EMEA.
* Quality ER Advice: Provide quality ER advice on employee issues, employment, policies, Health, Safety & Wellbeing matters, ensuring commercial, values-based, and lawful outcomes across EMEA.
* Training and Development: Support the development and delivery of HR Compliance & Employee Relations training programs.
* Business Practices Management: Build and manage robust business practices to ensure consistent application and governance of HR policies and controls.
* Regulatory Awareness: Stay up to date with employment regulations, labor laws, industry best practices, and emerging risks, implementing necessary changes to practices and policies.
* Special Projects Participation: Participate in special projects/programs requiring compliance expertise and project management.
* Labor Relations Collaboration: Collaborate with legal teams in preparation for and participation in labor relations matters.
* Team Collaboration: Work effectively, collaboratively, and resiliently as part of a multi-geography team, focusing on capability and succession planning.
Qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in human resources management and/or Law (post-graduate legal qualifications are highly desirable).
Experience:
* Extensive experience in a specialist employee relations role or employment legal role, demonstrating a deep understanding of employment laws, regulations, and policies.
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Strong experience engaging and managing senior stakeholders, ideally in a multi-national context, and the ability to function as a strong and collaborative colleague and team member.
* Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and commercial acumen to a range of complex cases, delivering practical advice that manages risk and aligns with best practices and relevant employment jurisdictions.
* Ability to autonomously and timely manage multiple stakeholders, ER cases, and priorities.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent influencing, negotiation, and coaching skills.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle complex, highly sensitive, and confidential information.
