Description ‘Number One ’ is located on the outskirts of Liskeard, Cornwall. Working within the Children and Families Service in Children’s Social Care, the successful applicant will join our residential services to meet the needs of children and young people who are in the care of the Local Authority and who may have experienced abuse and trauma. We follow a trauma informed, low arousal model of support to enable transformation of children’s lived experiences. You will be part of a supportive team of Registered Managers and Area Team Managers. The Role: As the Deputy Manager of this Service, you will support the multi-disciplinary management team of committed professionals to achieve positive outcomes for the children who receive support from the home. You will have skills in leadership, communication, and experience of working with children with complex needs who may engage in behaviours of concern and/or who are trauma experienced. This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: This role requires you to work 50% of your hours providing direct care and support to children living in the home, the rest of your hours will be office time to enable you to fulfil the management aspects of your role. You will be required to work weekends, evenings and have the ability to undertake sleep in shifts. What you’ll need to succeed: You will be confident innovative, creative and calm under pressure. You will have at least three years experience of working in an Ofsted registered Children’s Home.
