Procurement Apprentice
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Apprentice to join our procurement team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, supplier management, and cost analysis while working towards a recognised qualification. The successful candidate will support procurement activities, contribute to business efficiency, and develop professional skills in a dynamic work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Procurement Support: Assist in the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, evaluating supplier options, and processing purchase orders. Support supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
• Supplier & Contract Management: Maintain and update procurement records and supplier databases. Assist in contract management and supplier performance monitoring. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
• Market Research & Cost Analysis: Research market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Support in the preparation of procurement reports and spend analysis to aid decision-making.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal departments to understand procurement needs and provide effective support. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Process Improvement & Compliance: Ensure procurement processes align with best practices and industry regulations. Participate in audits and reviews to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
• Training & Development: Engage in training programs to develop expertise in procurement and supply chain management. Stay updated with industry trends, procurement techniques, and regulatory changes.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Strong interest in procurement, supply chain, or business administration.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Desirable:
• Previous work experience in a business or procurement-related role (not essential).
• Knowledge of procurement principles and supply chain management.
• Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems.
