Job summary
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team on the JAG-accredited Endoscopy Unit.
The Endoscopy Unit performs a variety of standard and advanced procedures for both out-patients and in-patients, including gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG insertion, oesophageal stenting, and ERCP. Other specialist work is undertaken by individual consultants.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Endoscopy Unit Manager, you will be responsible for decontaminating endoscopes, assisting endoscopists, and acting as the patient's named nurse, advocating for their privacy and dignity throughout the procedure.
You should demonstrate good leadership, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Although experience is desirable, full training will be provided as this is a developmental post covering all areas of Endoscopy, supported by our Practice Development Nurse.
Endoscopy experience is highly desirable but not essential. Flexibility and a commitment to personal and professional development are required to meet the service needs.
