We're on the lookout for a warm and outgoing Head Housekeeper to join the team at our new 52-bed home, Langtree, nestled within the Standish Care Village.
Role Overview:
As a Head Housekeeper, you will provide leadership and rota management within the Domestic team and provide cleaning services within the home in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line with best practices.
You will have a robust understanding of IPC and local regulations and will maintain your skills and undertake such training and development as required.
Role Specific Duties:
* To provide leadership to the Housekeeping and Laundry teams in the home
* Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of cleaning implementation and delivery
* Implement action to meet and maintain cleaning standards ensuring that all rooms and communal areas of the home are clean, tidy and presented to the highest standards at all times
* To evaluate standards of cleaning competence liaising with the rest of the team if you have any concerns
* Implement actions to meet and maintain cleaning standards
* Systematically solve day to day problematical issues which arise
* Ensure you are implementing local and national IPC guidelines and are working in line with these at all times
* Evaluate and ensure that all residents and their families feel at home, in a clean and tidy environment
* Ensure that the cleaning trolley is well stocked at all times
* Ensure you are stock rotating and have a robust ordering system in place
* To ensure residents' rights are protected
* To be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of our residents.
* To contribute to the efficient running of the home at all times
* To encourage our residents and other staff to partake in daily cleaning tasks working in line with the Household Model of Care
Working with Others:
* To develop effective working relationships with other employees and support and develop new and less experienced members of the team
* To attend and participate in team meetings
* To create a robust rota and manage this at all times
* To maintain and develop relationships with the residents, their families, friends and other visitors to the home creating a nurturing environment where everyone feels loved and safe
* To be responsible for the health and safety of yourself as well as others in the home under the Health and Safety regulations whilst promptly reporting any hazards or potential hazards to the relevant person
* You will have the ability to work under pressure whilst being flexible and consistent
* To be involved in the implementation and maintenance of the services quality assurance programme
* Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees

* To provide a warm welcome to all new residents, team members and all visitors and to familiarise them with the home
* You will have strong communication skills, be cooperative and have excellent attention to detail
* To lead by example at all times observing the cleanliness of the home and auditing practices at least monthly
Personal and Professional Development:
* Attend statutory training and any other training as directed whilst being open to learning opportunities
* Have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects those living with the disease
* Have a basic knowledge of CQC and the fundamental standards

Salary & Benefits:
* £13.50 per hour
