Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager
Cornish Orchards are looking to add a Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager to our passionate team of 22 local staff.
The HSE & Sustainability Manager is accountable for the implementation and operation of effective frameworks for the management of health & safety, Environmental and Sustainability throughout the business.
Key Accountabilities
The Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager is responsible for the following key outputs and accountabilities:
Health & Safety
* Maintain an understanding of all current H&S legislation relevant to Cornish Orchards activities
* Develop and communicate EHS policies & procedures throughout the business
* Support line managers with the implementation of EHS procedures
* Monitor and report on H&S performance across all business operations to the Leadership Team
* Define, maintain & communicate safety standards for all products and services produced by the company
* Manage and maintain all company H&S records
* Liaise with all relevant external stakeholders on H&S matters
Environment
* Maintain understanding of all environmental legislation relevant to CO activities
* Management of all CO waste streams, including the Water Treatment Plant and wetland
* Work with all departments to minimise waste and maximise recycling opportunities
* Liaise with all relevant external stakeholders on environmental matters
Sustainability & CSR
* Work with the Leadership team to create a Sustainability strategy
* Finding new, innovative and economically reductive ways to stay green
* Develop and monitor the company's sustainability performance
* Communicating and marketing sustainability campaigns to internal and external stakeholders, working closely with HR, PR, and Marketing.
Experience Required
* Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
* NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety Management (or equivalent)
* A disciplined and organised approach to their work
* Attention to detail and tenacity
* The ability to influence behaviour at all levels of the company
* The confidence and credibility to audit colleagues
* A desire for continuous improvement
* An interest in environmental matters
