Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust
Community Adult Eating Disorder Service (CAEDS)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Practitioner within the Community Adult Eating Disorder Service. We are keen to meet applicants with experience and an interest in supporting service users with eating disorders and can contribute to the evolving needs of the service, and the team's aspirations for future development.
The role will involve working in the community providing evidenced based treatment and managing complex psychological and physical risk through psychoeducation, monitoring and robust care and risk management planning. The successful candidate will be provided with training, supervision, and guidance to help expand their skills and knowledge.
The post holder will be expected to provide care co-ordination and treatment for service users with a primary diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, or Severe medically complicated Bulimia Nervosa. At times this will involve joint working with CTT's so that service users can also access support for other mental health conditions, as well as their eating disorder.
CAEDS is part of a series of wider pathway developments aimed at improving overall care for service users and carers. Community Practitioners can expect to interface with other services both within and outside of CNTW.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be expected to contribute regularly to the duty system managing queries and referrals to the team. There will be an expectation to provide scaffolding advice and training to other professionals outside of CAEDS who are also supporting people with eating difficulties. The post holder will be expected to provide ongoing support and advice to trainees and students of varying disciplines.
The evidenced based treatments currently offered are predominately MANTRA and Specialist Structured Clinical Management (SSCM); if the successful candidate has not had this training, these opportunities are regularly offered to the team.
