Description
Due to our strategic expansion into the Northwest, we have a fantastic opportunity for Assistant Planners / Planners to join our Sheffield team. Working alongside a team of experienced and skilled town planners, you will be able to quickly learn and develop your knowledge of the planning process within a consultancy environment.

The role:
We can offer you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including supporting the allocation of sites through the local plan process and preparing planning applications for residential-led development proposals, including those on complex brownfield sites and land within the green belt.
We have big growth plans and are looking for people with the enthusiasm to come and be part of this and to develop a career with us.
The key duties will be:
* Advising on development potential of land and buildings
* Assisting with preparing planning applications and appeals
* Assisting in providing policy advice and research
* Drafting representations to plan consultations and examinations
* Utilising a range of resources to identify land opportunities
* Working with senior officers, clients and other consultants to deliver development
You will need:
* Previous experience in a Planning role (ideally from within local government, consultancy or development industry)
* A relevant Planning qualification (or working towards one)
* Membership of RTPI or working towards membership
* An understanding of the planning process and systems
* A keen interest in the built and natural environment, and the Town Planning sector
* Excellent writing skills with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently
* Drive, commitment, enthusiasm, and a team player approach
