Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Dunbar at Torness Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week for our EDF contract. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
* Attends pre-job briefings and asks questions to check understanding.
* Reads and understands Work Orders, Instructions, and Method Statements.
* Selects equipment for the job and checks that it is in good working order.
* Selects appropriate materials for the job and ensures they are in proper working condition.
* Reads and understands wiring diagrams relevant to the task.
* Communicates with the client.
* Capable of installing cable, conduit, and tray.
* Cleans and tidies the work area upon completion.
* Removes barriers/signs at the appropriate time.
* Disposes of equipment according to instructions and legislation.
* Completes Work Order cards indicating work completed.
Impact:
As an effective member of the Hard Services Team, you will focus on customer care with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to work within a team in a changing business environment.
Complexity:
* Be able to rectify problems where appropriate, following correct procedures.
* Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical, and Environmental).
* Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
* Recognized Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification.
* ECS Health and Safety certification.
* 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS or greater.
* Electrical experience in commercial and industrial installations.
* Experience of working on Nuclear sites is preferred but not essential.
* Lighting and small power installations.
* Testing and inspection.
* Panel modifications and builds.
* Cat 5 installations.
* Safe electrical isolation procedures.
