We are seeking a highly motivated, focused, deadline driven individual with a high attention to detail for the role of Finance Assistant. The individual will also be organised, with strong interpersonal skills and a professional manner. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Management Accountant and Senior Purchase Ledger Controller within a finance team of 8 (2 work from our Colchester studio). The main responsibilities of the role are to assist the Management Accountant with the preparation of regular finance reports and management accounts, and to assist the Senior Purchase Ledger Controller with the processing of staff expenses and purchase invoices. No previous experience is required for this position and full training and support will be provided. Once the individual is fully trained, the position does require the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment. No previous experience is required. The individual will be trained on each of the tasks listed below and will assume responsibility for these as and when they have been given the training and support required to enable them to take responsibility. Key Responsibilities Assisting the Management Accountant in the preparation of month end management accounts and other regular financial performance reports Preparation of regular cashflow forecast Monthly bank reconciliation Preparation and analysis of Budgetholder reports Fixed asset register maintenance Balance sheet reconciliations Preparation of VAT returns Posting transactions to SAGE 50 and job costing system Preparation of regular reports from the job costing system Processing of staff expense claims Skills and Qualifications 6 GCSE grades 9 – 5, including grade 6 or above for English and Maths A levels Some experience of Microsoft Office 365 Solid organisational skills with a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise.
