External examiner for BSc (Hons) Facilities and Built Asset Management (Full-time, Part-time, and Degree Apprenticeship routes)

The University of Greater Manchester (formerly University of Bolton), School of Engineering, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for BSc (Hons) Facilities and Built Asset Management (Full-time, Part-time, and Degree Apprenticeship routes).
The duties will include the review of the students’ academic work and meeting with learners as required.
The successful candidate will externally examine the following provision:
1. BSc (Hons) Facilities and Built Asset Management (plus with foundation plus Top Up) (FT/PT)
2. BSc (Hons) Facilities and Built Asset Management Degree Apprenticeship Route
External examiners play a central role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. The duties will include the review of the students’ academic work and attendance at exam boards.
The successful candidate will be required to review and approve the assessment tasks and examination papers; review samples of student work on modules within the programme, including the endorsement of marks to confirm that the marks are an agreed, fully moderated and externally examined set of results; the submission of annual reports; attendance at appropriate boards of examiners and agreement to programme modifications. The post will commence as soon as possible.
External examiner appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is to start as soon as possible following approval by the University’s Education Committee and Senate. The applicant will require the relevant experience and knowledge of a wide range of Facilities and Built Asset Management areas across the curriculum. Applicants from a Business or Built Environment background would also be considered.
