What you’ll do:
* Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
* Manage a Bid Team based in Warwick and London, planning resources for bids.
* Ensure effective resource utilization to maximize business opportunities.
* Manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, timely submissions following Telent's procedures.
* Improve bid quality through best practice approaches.
* Monitor bid costs and seek improvements in bid return on investment.
* Develop relationships with customers through meetings and presentations.
* Oversee Bid team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
* Develop bid strategies, produce materials from Go/No Go to submission, and support post-submission activities.
* Plan workload, forecast bids, track costs, and report on success metrics.
* Conduct bid reviews and maintain the bid library.
Who you are:
Key requirements:
* Extensive experience managing high-performing Bid Teams, improving bid success rates.
* Experience in winning bids in Public Sector markets like Traffic, Rail, Defence, Emergency Services.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Financial acumen with ability to interpret financial reports.
* Broad understanding of Traffic, Rail, Telecom, and IT products and services.
* APMP or equivalent qualification with proven bid success.
* Excellent proposal writing skills, including answering tender questions convincingly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bid response tools.
* Leadership skills with experience building successful bid teams.
* Ability to develop and deliver solutions to complex challenges.
* Strong interpersonal, persuasive, and influencing skills.
* Experience in developing commercial propositions based on customer needs.
* Effective communication at all organizational levels.
* Positive, ownership-driven attitude and high accountability.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships.
* High emotional intelligence and pride in quality outputs.
