With a new campus opening in Barrow in September 2025 and work underway on our new Citadels campus in Carlisle, you will assist our newly established Director of Estates and Commercial Services deliver our strategic ambitions across our multiple sites by ensuring the effective and efficient planning, creation and operation of the university’s estate.
Your immediate priority will be to manage the successful delivery of the Citadels Campus project in Carlisle, which is scheduled for opening in late 2027. In addition to managing internal University stakeholders, a team of appointed Consultants, Contractors and Suppliers, you will be responsible for liaison with external stakeholders, including Cumberland Council, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the Borderlands Partnership to ensure that all land, property, funding, procurement, design and build activities are successfully delivered. You will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of the University Estates Strategy, with the aim of delivering an excellent student, staff and visitor experience.
As a member of a relevant professional body, you will demonstrate a successful track record in capital project development and delivery, and experience of delivering transformational change. You will demonstrate effective influencing and problem-solving skills matched with an ability to proactively collaborate with Institute Directors and Heads of Service to ensure that short, medium and long term aspirations and operations are delivered.
