National Transport Manager
EA First have exclusively partnered with a leading Life Sciences business in their search for a National Transport Manager. The role will predominantly be based in Birmingham but will have responsibility for 4 key locations.
The business has experienced significant growth over the last 3 years through natural growth and by acquisition.

Responsibilities:
1. Report to the Operations Director, you'll use your skills and experience as National Transport Manager to support the wider business to lead the operational team to ensure 'best in class' operational performance whilst supporting with the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Lead a management team of 4 x direct reports across transport, planning and compliance whilst indirectly managing a team of up to 300+ drivers.
3. Devise a network strategy with a strong focus on network optimisation.
4. Cost control to budget.
5. Providing leadership, motivation and career development to the transport management team, ensuring that they achieve excellence on a day-to-day basis.
6. Proactive in driving a continuous improvement culture; seeking out and driving improvement initiatives to ensure growth is managed successfully whilst maintaining challenging targets.
7. Developing productive and effective relationships with key customer stakeholders to ensure we are able to deliver the customer's growth and longer term plans.
8. Proactive in seeking out initiatives that ensure the contract supports the customer's business plan and supply chain strategy as well as the contract logistics strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background.
2. Experience of working within Healthcare, Life Sciences or FMCG is advantageous.
3. A minimum of 5 years experience operating as a Regional or National Transport Manager.
4. Previous multi-site management experience is essential.
5. Experience of working with transport management and planning systems is advantageous.
6. You will be confident and able to build rapport, develop relationships with customers both internal and external.
7. CPC qualified with demonstrable track record of being an O-Licence holder.
8. Must be commutable to and from Birmingham.
Salary: 65,000 - 75,000 + benefits
