Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Zoologist/Animal Specialist to join our team at The Clubhouse, a hands-on farm activities club designed to educate and engage children with nature, farming, and animal care. The ideal candidate will have a background in zoology, animal science, or a related field and a passion for inspiring the next generation about the natural world. This role involves leading interactive animal-related activities, ensuring the welfare of the farm animals, and fostering a fun, safe, and educational environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and lead engaging, hands-on animal care and wildlife education sessions for children of different age groups.
* Supervise and facilitate farm-based activities such as feeding, grooming, and handling a variety of animals (e.g., small mammals, poultry, livestock, insects, reptiles).
* Provide educational talks and demonstrations on topics such as animal behavior, habitats, conservation, and sustainable farming practices.
* Assist children in understanding animal welfare and ethical farming through fun and interactive experiences.
* Maintain a safe and controlled environment, ensuring proper animal handling techniques and hygiene protocols are followed.
* Collaborate with other staff to develop seasonal programs that integrate science, nature exploration, and farm work.
* Monitor the health and well-being of animals, report concerns, and work with veterinarians when needed.
* Support children in developing life skills through teamwork, problem-solving, and outdoor learning.
* Engage with parents, guardians, and school groups to enhance participation and understanding of the club’s mission.
Essential Requirements:
* Degree or certification in Zoology, Animal Science, Veterinary Studies, or a related field (IDEALLY but not official requirement).
* Experience working with animals, preferably in an educational or farm setting.
* Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire children.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and carry out physical activities.
* First Aid and Animal Care certifications (or willingness to obtain them; will provide on training day).

Contract length: 2 weeks
Pay: £600.00 per week
