Senior Community Protection Officer

ASA's public sector client is looking for a dedicated Senior Community Protection Officer to join their Protective Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB), promoting community safety, and improving the wellbeing of people living and working in the local area.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Senior Community Protection Officer you will:
1. Lead investigations into reports of anti-social behaviour across all housing tenures.
2. Engage with residents, witnesses, and perpetrators to gather evidence, issue warnings, and seek resolutions.
3. Support early intervention through mediation, partnership working, and creative problem-solving.
4. Work closely with Police Scotland, Housing Associations, landlords, and voluntary agencies to deliver a joined-up approach.
5. Prepare case reports and evidence for legal proceedings and represent the Council in court when required.
6. Help develop local policies, contribute to service improvements, and share your expertise across the team.
7. Provide guidance and mentoring to Community Protection Assistants and new team members.
8. Maintain accurate case records and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is approachable, resilient, and passionate about community safety. You'll have:
Essential:
1. HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Housing, Community Safety, or a relevant subject - OR equivalent knowledge and experience.
2. A full UK Driving Licence.
3. Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
4. Experience managing sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
5. The ability to prioritise, manage your own caseload, and meet tight deadlines.
6. Confidence in handling challenging behaviour and working with vulnerable individuals.
Desirable:
1. A qualification in mediation, housing advice, or conflict resolution.
2. Previous experience in ASB case management, enforcement, or giving evidence in court.
3. Knowledge of community safety legislation and good practice.
4. Experience of working within a community planning or multi-agency environment.
Additional Information:
1. This role requires Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
2. Part time flexible up to 21 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the service.
