An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Ashford, Tenterden and Whitfield Agency based out of either our Ashford or Tenterden office.
About the role
You will be responsible for positively contributing to the planning and delivering of the development of new commercial insurance opportunities in a way that supports the Agency’s business objectives. Effectively building relationships with potential customers and working positively with colleagues across the Agency to successfully convert leads into long-term customer relationships.
1. Proactive contribution to the development and delivery of an effective plan for identifying, targeting and converting appropriate new business leads into long-term customer relationships.
2. Identifying and initiating cross-selling opportunities to existing clients including introducing financial services products.
3. Researching, designing and implementing effective methods of communication to generate sales from new and existing clients including email/written, telephone, social media, face-to-face, events etc.
4. Represent the Agency positively at trade events/shows and networking opportunities within the commercial sector, utilising opportunities to successfully generate new business leads.
5. Effectively build relationships with prospective clients to take them from commitment to quote, passing to the Insurance Sales team at the appropriate time to convert the sale.
6. Consistently provide excellent levels of customer service in all interactions with potential and existing customers, delivering on promises, meeting their needs and exceeding expectations.
7. Build and maintain effective working relationships within the Agency team and all relevant key contacts and teams within NFU Mutual and external agencies/suppliers.
About you:
1. Proven track record in highly driven and ambitious targeted business development and/or sales role.
2. Proven track record in business planning/developing contact strategies.
3. Good understanding of business structures and commerciality.
4. Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills, including networking skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
6. Good IT skills especially Microsoft Office, CRM, social media platforms and the ability to effectively use NFU Mutual systems.
7. Able to manage own workload and able to work effectively under pressure.
8. Great team working and ability to build effective relationships through positive behaviours, honesty and integrity.
9. Demonstrate commitment to quality and compliance with procedures/regulations using due care, skill and diligence.
10. Desire to be the best, openness to personal development, learning new skills.
11. Own transport & full UK driving licence.
